Christmas Lights for the Library
The Girard Public Library Board of Trustees is asking the community for support to place Christmas lights back on the library. When the new addition and new roof was placed on the old building the Christmas lights were removed. Now that the building to the east of the library has been razed the library building is visible and Christmas lights would be a nice addition. They would be similar to the existing lights around the square and on other community buildings, except they would be more energy efficient as they will be LED bulbs and not require as much electricity. Approximately 500 feet of lights are needed at a total cost of $1,000. The Girard Public Library is a 501C3 Tax Exempt Organization and welcomes any and all donations. This year the money collected at the annual Book Sale held during Fall Festival will be used toward the purchase of the lights. We thank the city employees in advance for their efforts to install the lights for the library and know they will be enjoyed for many years to come.
