The Girard Public Library is holding a contest for Girard School Students who would like to write a paper telling “Why I Love My Library”. The top entries selected will go to youth who will ride as Grand Marshall’s in the Fall Festival Parade and all will be complied for the public to read.

The Girard Public Library “Carnegie “ building is 100 years old this year and plans are being made to celebrate. During Fall Festival the library will hold several events. On October 5th at 6:30pm the library will host guest Kansas Author, Lora Reiter, who will talk about her new novel One Was Annie then following we will have a short ceremony for the library and finish with tours, cake and punch. On Friday and Saturday we will hold our annual book sale and take part in the parade.
