Harley Receives Level Six Certificate

On June 2, 2006 Girard Public Library Director, Terri Harley, attended the annual meeting of the Southeast Kansas Library System in Iola. Shannon Roy,Director of Library Development, with Kansas Sate Library was present at the meeting to give out awards for the Library Employee Education Program (LEEP). LEEP provides recognition of contact hours in continuing education events and is administered by the Kansas State Library. It is designed to encourage skill building and effective library service. Harley received a Level Six Certificate of Achievement In Continuing Library Education for Six Hundred Hours of participation. This is currently the highest certificate that can be achieved.

Patriotic Music

Bob Hamlin, musician from Pittsburg, will present a program of
traditional and contemporary patriotic music at 4:30 pm, Wednesday
June 21 at the Girard Public Library. The public is invited and
refreshments will be served.
